Fall Forums:

Each Fall Quarter Encounters Abroad Forum showcases a particular academic exchange program that currently exists between Western Washington University and another university abroad. These forum sessions provide an opportunity so Western students can hear from actual students visiting from those schools and learn firsthand about the opportunities these exchange programs offer!

Austria: Karl-Franzens Universität, Graz - October 6

Karl-Franzens Universität was founded in 1585 and is one of the oldest universities in Central Europe. Graz is the second largest city in Austria with a population of around 250,000 and is nestled at the foothills of the Alps. It is also the capital of the province Styria which lies in the southeast of Austria and is referred to as the "green heart of Austria".

Sweden: Umea University - October 20

Umeå University is located in the city of Umeå in northern Sweden. It was founded in 1965 and is the 5th oldest university within Sweden's present borders. As the largest city in northern Sweden, Umeå is naturally a place where different worlds meet. Over half of the city’s residents are from outside the region. More than 50 languages are spoken - with English widely used everywhere - and there is a thriving community of clubs and societies that represent people and cultures from across the globe.

Netherlands: Erasmus University Rotterdam - November 3

Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR) is an internationally-oriented research university that is closely associated with Rotterdam and the region. The city of Rotterdam - a modern metropolis featuring the largest port in Europe and home to over 160 nationalities, including 50,000 students.

Turkey: Bogazici University - November 17

Bogazici University was formally established on September 10, 1971 in Istanbul, Turkey. While appearing to be a newcomer to the community of Turkish universities, it has behind it the long history of Robert College, which was the first American college to be established outside the boundaries of the United States.
